Gaming Daily Weekend: FALLOUT 4’s 65-Song Soundtrack is Now Available for Download

Well, the weekend is here, and with it, the BlizzCon madness. As you may already know, our very own, Malik Forté and Michele Morrow are going to be hosting the digital ticket. So, if you can’t make it out to LA, go watch all of the kick-ass digital coverage, and don’t be afraid to send the lovely hosts some love over social media. We’ll also be covering all of the biggest news that breaks from the event, so make sure to keep it here for all of that goodness. Now, on to the news.

In this weekend’s edition of Gaming Daily: Bethesda releases 65-song Fallout 4 soundtrack ahead of the game’s launch, Activision Blizzard launches film/tv studio to create Call of Duty and Skylanders projects, Sony isn’t looking to profit with PlayStation VR, NECA Toys and 343i teamed up to recreate a Spartan-sized Halo Needler to life, and Bloodborne fans with the Platinum Trophy will be able to download a special theme.

Pick up Fallout 4’s Official Soundtrack now

Alright, at this point there are plenty of Fallout 4-themed items you can add to your collection, including things such as the Pip Boy, Nuka-Cola soda, and even beer. You can basically surround yourself with all things Fallout 4, if that’s what you’re into. But, how about stimulating your ear-holes with some tunes from the game? Bethesda took to the web today to announce that the official soundtrack is now available on the iTunes shop for $15.99. It’s a great way to prepare yourself for this upcoming Tuesday when the game finally hits shelves.

The soundtrack, which was scored by the extremely talented Inon Zur, includes a whopping 65 tracks. All sorts of sounds from the game are included in this, so it may be worth checking out if you’re as excited for it as I am. I’m usually not a huge collector of video game soundtracks, but I’m going to make an exception for Fallout 4.

Activision Blizzard opens new TV/Film studio

Well, this is surprising. Activision Blizzard Studios is a new team that will be working on creating television and film content based on the studio’s most iconic franchises. Both a Skylanders TV series and Call of Duty film series are already in the works. Skylanders’ popularity with younger demographics make this a no-brainer. I’m more skeptical about a CoD film, but the franchise certainly has the reach to bring in large audiences. I’m pretty excited to see some StarCraft content. We’ll have to wait and see what becomes of this venture.

Sony isn’t looking to profit with PlayStation VR

It seems like Sony isn’t too worried about making money with VR. The company is instead hoping to get the headset into as many homes as possible. When speaking to Digital Spy, Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida had the following to say:

“We tend to price hardware not to make money from it but to get as many install base so that content can be sold. This is the same kind of thinking in the way that we are approaching PlayStation VR.”

Hitting the right entry price for this gear will be imperative to PlayStation VR’s success. We’ve speculated that this futuristic piece of tech will probably cost around the same as a new console, which honestly probably won’t cut it. There are very few people willing to spend $700 on a PS4/VR combination. I think the best price would be around $200, but I think it’s naive to think that it will be that cheap. So, Sony will have to prove the concept will work by making loads of excellent software exclusively for their product. I still don’t fully believe in this project because of Sony’s past history with technology. They usually abandon a project if it’s not doing well, which I could see happening here. Time will tell.

Halo-needler-replica-11042015

Complete your Halo Cosplay with this Needler

There have been many replicas made of varying Halo weapons, but none quite like this. In collaboration with Microsoft and 343i, NECA Toys has recreated a motorized, Spartan-sized Needler. This is one of the few that I’ve seen that actually try to scale the weapon to actual size. The protruding needles also retract when you pull the trigger, and then pop right up when you hit the reload button. It’s retailing for $300, so it’s definitely pricy for a toy. But, it’s exactly the type of beautiful piece to complete your Halo cosplay. Here’s the retailers site, just in case you want to nab one.

Bloodborne fans with Platinum Trophy to receive voucher for special theme

Bloodborne is still one of my favorite games this year, despite a plethora of massive AAA games hitting the shelves throughout the months. So, as you probably already guessed, I’m pretty stoked for Bloodborne: The Old Hunters expansion, which will finally launch on November 24. But, for those of you who are as impatient as I am, you had to have been pretty excited about yesterday’s patch announcement that introduces The League into the game.

That’s not all, though. Those that got every trophy available for this PS4 exclusives and earned the Platinum trophy will want to keep an eye on their email inbox because a voucher for a special theme will be showing up some time soon. I’m proud to say I’m one of the fans who accomplished this feat, so you know I’ll be rocking that theme.

That’s it for today, folks. Make sure to keep checking back for all of our BlizzCon coverage. It’s going to be a busy weekend for sure, but it should be filled to the brim with some epic announcements. Will you be playing Bloodborne once the patch releases? Let us know in the comments below.
