We’re still exhausted after a week of Comic-Con goodness, but thankfully there is a bunch of news to both excite and entertain us. In today’s Gaming Daily, Shia LaBeouf inspires Sonic the Hedgehog, The 1989 Batsuit is featured in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight DLC, the Palutena Amiibo will be exclusive to Amazon, Platinum Games’ Kenji Saito wants to make Kill La Kill and Berserk games, and Dead Island 2 loses its developer.
Shia La Beouf Inspired Sonic the Hedgehog
Would you believe me if I told you the video at the top of the page was on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel? Probably not, but I’m happy to tell you that it most definitely is. We’ve already seen Shia inspire Dragon Ball Z’s Goku, so taking a crack at our favorite blue hedgehog seems like the obvious next step, right? Right.
Many are assuming this is the work of the recent return of Sega’s public relations guy Aaron Webber. There’s no confirmation whether that’s true, but it makes a lot of sense considering the fact that the company’s social media accounts have been full of many a joke, meme, and more comical goodness since his return.
Who do you think Shia will inspire next?

1989 Batsuit to be featured in upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight DLC.
If you’ve already plowed your way through Batman: Arkham Knight and are looking for an extra dose of the caped crusader, you’ll be happy to hear that the latest DLC for the game, Batgirl: A Matter of Family, released today. On top of that, we also got news that season pass holders would also be getting the version of the Batsuit Michael Keaton wore during 1989’s Batman film, this August.

The upcoming Palutena Amiibo will be launching exclusively on Amazon.
Boy, these things are getting harder and harder to find these days. If you were looking to pick up the Palutena amiibo when it launches later this month on July 24, you’ll have to head to head to Amazon to do so. This news comes courtesy of an announcement made by the online retailer earlier today.
The interesting thing is that it doesn’t sound like it will remain exclusive with the company. According to Nintendo’s official website, the figure will be sold in both the United States and Canada and will exclusively be “launched” on Amazon. So, the toy could easily be a timed exclusive for Amazon.
I would assume that it would make it to other retailers eventually, but there’s no telling whether or not that’s true until we hear more on the matter. But, if you’d like to pick it up in the meantime, I’d stay tuned on the Amazon site, as pre-order details are set to be revealed July 22.
Platinum Games’ Kenji Saito wants to make a Kill La Kill or Berserk Game.Â
Excuse for a minute me while I jump up and down about the possibility of a Kill la Kill video game being made. Platinum Games has been pretty busy working on Star Fox Zero, Transformers Devastation, and Scalebound, but it looks like the studio’s own Kenji Saito has set his sights possibly on one day tackling the anime series Kill La Kill or Berserk. With fast-paced hack and slash tiles like Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance already on their resume, there’s no denying the fact that the very idea of the studio tackling the two series sounds promising.
It of course doesn’t mean anything and isn’t at all a confirmation. But, it’s still fun to think about.

Dead Island 2 loses developer.
Well, this doesn’t sound good. It was just a few months ago that Deep Silver revealed that the release of Dead Island 2 was being pushed to 2016. Now, there are reports around the web that the publisher has parted ways with the game’s developer Yager Development–who was also responsible for Spec Ops: the Line.
“With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve,” Deep Silver said in a statement. “After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner Yager.”
They added,”We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage.”
When you consider the publisher’s remarks and the history of the game, it sounds like there were obviously several issues with the title’s development. Though previous games in the Dead Island franchise weren’t really the greatest, I still hope the publisher gets another studio on the project, and soon.
