The PlayStation Store is having a Flash Sale this weekend.

What a nice way to head into the weekend! According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, the PlayStation Store is hosting a super awesome flash sale, offering 77 games for under $1 each. That’s right. From now until 9:00 AM PST Monday, March 23 you’ll be able to get titles like Syphon Filter, Surgeon Simulator, and Gravity Rush for a 96% discount!

One of the things that PC gamers always have over console gamers is the abundance of Steam Sales. It’s nice for a change to have these types of sales on our home consoles, despite the fact that this PlayStation network sale has a lot of older games, and very few new titles. You can still nab some classics that could honestly hold you off for the rest of the year.

Hideo-Kojima-03202015

Hideo Kojima is still involved with Metal Gear Solid V

After the surprising news that Hideo Kojima and key developers from the studio were parting ways with Konami erupted yesterday, it left many people questioning what was going to happen with the company’s upcoming title, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

In response to the news that rocked the gaming industry yesterday, Hideo Kojima stated, “I want to reassure fans that I am 100 percent involved and will continue working on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; I’m determined to make it the greatest game I’ve directed to date. Don’t miss it!”

For those who were worried that this would be the last Metal Gear game, that won’t be the case. Konami confirms in a statement that they will “continue to develop and distribute top-quality content in the Metal Gear series following the Phantom Pain.” In fact, Konami reiterated that it is working on another MGS title and is in the midst of interviewing for main staff to lead the development.

But, the problem here is what will those titles look like without Hideo Kojima at the helm? Let’s not forget that he is an iconic figure in the video game industry for a reason. His departure is a huge loss for the company. The question his, how bad must things have been for this to happen in the middle of Metal Gear Solid V and Silent Hills–two of Konami’s highly anticipated titles.

Predator is joining the Mortal Kombat X roster, Quitalities added to the game.

According to a listing on the Xbox Store, Predator will be joining horror icon Jason Vorhees on the Mortal Kombat X roster. Both characters will be joining two “klassic” Mortal Kombat characters in the Kombat Pack, which will be available day one for those who pick up the premium edition of the game.

Also, a new finisher called the “Quitality”–which affects players who decide to exit online games before the fight is over–was revealed by NetherRealm during a live gameplay demo on Twitch. According to the stream, the heads of players who quit early will explode, giving the abandoned challenger an instant win, and of course a show.

According to developer Derek Kirtzic, “It’s really more about making the winner look better.”

    …. Kartos? Who is kartos?

  2. Chris says:

The Quitality will hopefully fix the biggest problem with playing fighting games online. I don’t know how many times I’ve had people quit out of a match in order to maintain their “perfect” win record.

Is this sale US only, or is it available in Europe also?
