Despite the gaming drought we’ve been in since E3 ended, things are fiinally starting to pick up a little bit. Just this weekend, we learned that extra characters and gameplay content would be coming free of charge to Street Fighter V and reported on a really spot-on 3D printed Arkham Knight suit. As for today, we’re here to keep you informed and up to date on what you may have missed. In today’s Gaming Daily, The Last of Us original soundtrack is getting a Vinyl release, we get our first look at Tremor in Mortal Kombat X, Yooka-Laylee developer Playtonic is happy to move on from “box” ticking culture at Microsoft’s Rare Studios, Fallout 4 voice actors recorded over 13,000 lines of dialogue over the course of 2 years, and Capcom announced a brand new Street Fighter V character named Necalli.

The Last of Us Soundtrack Vinyl

The Last of Us OST is getting a Vinyl Release this week.

It’s hard to count all of the things I love about Naughty Dog’s apocalyptic game The Last of Us. On top of having great graphics, a touching story, and fun gameplay, it’s safe to say that the game’s original soundtrack is impeccable, and as a result has had many people thirsting for a vinyl release for quite some time. Thankfully, after being out for a little over two years, we’re finally getting just that thanks to the developer’s new relationship with Mondo.

The Last of Us VINYL HEAD

The soundtrack, which was originally composed by Gustavo Santaolalla, will hit shelves Wednesday July 22, and will feature beautiful artwork by Olly Moss and Jay Shaw. The 180-gram vinyl will cost a whopping $75. So, if you want it, prepare to fork over some serious dinero.

If you want to know more about the original soundtrack itself, check out PlayStation’s behind the scenes video (which they published back in 2013) at the top of the page.

Fallout 4 Character Creation

Fallout 4 Voice Actors recorded over 13,000 lines of dialogue over the course of two years

It was recently revealed via an interview with The Telegraph that Fallout 4 voice actors took nearly two years to record over 13,000 lines of dialogue (each) for Bethesda’s upcoming game. Though the number sounds outrageous, it makes a lot of sense considering the fact that you’re able to choose between a female and male character this time around–which also, according to the interview, alters how the story unfolds.

New Mortal Kombat X gameplay trailer showcases Tremor

And the DLC characters just keep coming! Since Mortal Kombat X’s official launch in April, we’ve been able to download fighters like Tanya, Jason Vorhees, and Predator. Starting tomorrow—if you have the Kombat Pack—you’ll be able to download veteran kombatant Tremor. Don’t have the Kombat pack? Don’t worry, the rest of the world will be able to download the character a few days later on July 28.

Also, if you’re curious about how he fights, check out the trailer at the top of the page. Though we’ve seen him in the past, a rocky substance now replaces the majority of skin on Tremor’s upper body. The new design definitely suits his rock pelting, earth manipulating move-set. Watching the fighter pull sharp rocky spikes up from the ground to impale enemies, and forcing walls to close in on them looks especially gruesome (and awesome).

The trailer also showcases skins pack #2, which will be available the same day.

Capcom announces new Street Fighter V character, Necalli.

Speaking of fighting games, doesn’t this guy look vicious. Capcom surprised the masses during EVO 2015 this weekend with a brand new Street Fighter V character reveal. His name is Necalli and is described as a hard-hitting, up-close-and-personal warrior who uses animalistic techniques. Ooh! I’m calling dibs on this guy once the game comes out next March.

Playtonic is happy to move away from “box-ticking” culture at Microsoft’s Rare

Yikes. Shots fired! Playtonic made headlines earlier this year when they successfully reached their Kickstarter funding goal for their upcoming game Yooka-Laylee, and now the former Rare devs are in the news again. When speaking to Red Bull about parting from Rare, Playtonic’s creative lead Gavin Price revealed:

“We have a focus on pure fun, fine-tuned controls, varied game scenarios and of course our sense of humour. These types of things just wouldn’t sit well with key stakeholders at bigger companies, but for us we think more games should focus on nailing these elements and not care about marketing box-ticking.”

This quote gives fans an interesting look at how limited the devs felt once Microsoft took over the company. On segueing from 3D platformers to Kinect focused games, Price stated:

“I don’t think they turned their back on the genre consciously. It was more of a desire to move ahead and try new things such as Viva Piñata and Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts – concepts that kind of needed a bit of horsepower behind them, and they had the hardware to finally do them. Inevitably every studio probably has lots more ideas than developers to go around, so maybe it was more the case there just wasn’t enough resources to continue with platformers and deliver new experiences.”
