What happens when you throw a New 3DS XL in the microwave.

If you’ve been trying to track down one of the limited edition Majora’s Mask New 3DS XLs, this one is probably going to piss you off. According to a report over on GameSpot, some guy thought it’d be fun to see what would happen if he microwaved the handheld and try to sell it on eBay.

Cue the collective face palm. If you’ve clicked on the eBay link up above, you’ll see that the guy is selling the system for a whopping $11,315.00. According to the listing, the 3DS was microwaved, “for purposes to CREATE ARTWORK using the microwaving process inside a fully customized microwaving robot shielded enclosure. 1200 Watts of microwaving power was used to microwave the device inside a 2.2 CUFT VINTAGE 1970s-era Whirlpool Microwave BEAST.”

If you’ve got money to spend and want to start a melted tech collection, the guy is also selling a microwaved iPhone 6 Plus and a Nintendo 2DS. Click here for an image of the un-microwaved DS.

Dark Souls 2 looks a lot better on the PS4.

The video above, which came courtesy of Digital Foundry today, showcases what the upcoming definitive edition of Dark Souls 2–which is out April 1–has in store for us in terms of graphics and boy does it look impressive.

The site reportedly used a gold master PS4 code to analyze the remix/remastered version of the punishing Action RPG. Hailing it as the best-looking incarnation of the game, the video shows side-by side comparisons of the PS3 and PS4 versions of the title.

For those who say graphics don’t matter, the bump up from 720p to 1080p is pretty noticeable. Though Digitial Foundry mentions they were asked to focus on the Forest of the Fallen Giants area, they say “it’s fair to say it’s a sizeable chunk of the game that gives the engine a firm workout.” It will be interesting to see how the rest of the game looks on launch.

Crystal Dynamics Developer comments on Xbox Exclusivity.

Remember back last summer when Microsoft revealed that Rise of the Tomb Raider was going to be an Xbox One exclusive and everybody lost their mind? Well Darrell Gallagher, developer Crystal Dynamics boss, has opened up about the exclusivity to Game Informer.

According to the interview, the partnership actually began back in 2008 when Crystal Dynamics brought Tomb Raider Underworld to the Xbox 360 with exclusive DLC. On the exclusivity, Gallagher reveals that it helps achieve what “we want with Rise of the Tomb Raider; to deliver the best game that we can.

When asked if he thought the series would exist without the Microsoft partnership, he stated, “I wouldn’t say that,” he said. “If you look at Tomb Raider, it’s been around for 20 years, so I do think that Tomb Raider would still be around [without Microsoft].” According to him, partnering with the company helps boost the profile of the franchise to new heights.

Also, he doesn’t rule out a PlayStation version, “We’re focusing on Xbox One and Xbox 360 here at Crystal, and that’s what we’re focused on right now,” he said. “And anything beyond? We’ll come back to at a later date.”

I really try to not be a “PC Master Race D-bag,” but, honestly, you’re not fooling anyone by saying that the best version of your game would be on consoles. Especially when the previous version of your game did so well on PC.
I know it’s a lot to ask for, but could a company, just once, say that they decided to do a “system exclusive” because a company paid them to?

I loled so hard at the Q&A on his ebay page.

Q:  no one in their stupid mind is going to pay you a down payment for a house or car for this

A:  Anyone can own a car or a house, but not everyone can own a professionally microwaved limited edition Majora’s 3DS XL hand crafted to microwaved perfection
