Well, it looks like we’ve almost made it to the weekend again, everybody. To wrap up our awesome week of gaming goodness, we’ve highlighted a couple of news tidbits from today. In today’s Gaming Daily, the people behind Saints Row released a hilarious Top Gear parody, Ubisoft Reflections announced Grow Home, and you can play Sims 4 completely free for 48 hours!

Well, look at what we have here. The group behind Saints Row has released their own parody of the television show Top Gear to their YouTube channel, and the results are… interesting. While we’re all used to seeing off the wall advertisements from the company, this one proves they are still as unpredictable as ever.
The aptly named four minute video “Gat Gear”–which ties into the recently released Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell expansion–features a pretty accurate Jeremy Clarkson impression and a mysterious weaponized arm-chair racer named The Stag.
If watching the faceless racer slowly make his way through London wasn’t enough, you’ll be able to test drive the vehicle yourself in the game’s standalone expansion Gat Out of Hell.
Ubisoft Announced Grow Home
What started as an experimental project for a tiny eight-member team from Ubisoft Reflections, has blossomed into a full-fledged release called Grow Home. The title, which is set to release for the PC on February 4, stars a quirky little droid named BUD (Botanical Utility Droid) whose on a mission “to search the galaxy for a new species of plant that can oxygenate his home world.”
“By growing and directing the giant Star Plant into a towering organic sculpture, players reshape the planet and create a magnificent landscape that lets them climb to new heights,” the developer explained. “The game’s unique climbing controls and abilities challenge players to continually reach for higher ground, but one wrong move and it’s a long way down.”
While Ubisoft is known for AAA franchises like Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs, the studio is giving their artists the opportunity to try new things. Producer Pete Young reveals, “We wanted to challenge how we make games at Ubisoft Reflections. We’ve got a track record of developing massive AAA games and a strong technical heritage, but we’re also a lot more than that.”
Origin Game Time Allows you to play the Sims 4 completely free for 48 hours.
If you’ve been wanting to play The Sims 4 since it released back in September of last year, or are tired of your own life, this news may be just right for you. Origin users have until February 2, at 10:00 a.m. PT to download the popular people simulator completely free of charge.
Unfortunately, since this release is part of Origin’s “Game Time” promotion, this means you will only have 48 hours (real time, not game time) to play around in your virtual doll house. Luckily, however, the clock doesn’t start ticking until you start the game. Also, if you plan on buying the game at a later date, your save data and progress will be transferred over.
Furthermore, the Origin “Game Time” program will also allow you to get your hands on Titanfall and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for 48 hours, as well as Battlefield 4 for a whopping 168 hours.
