Platinum Teases TMNT Announcement with Hilarious GIF

With another fun-filled weekend in the books, it’s Monday again, which wasn’t the most exciting thing to realize when we all got up this morning. To combat those Monday work (or school) day blues, we combed the web for the latest in gaming news developments, which will hopefully help. In today’s Gaming Daily, Platinum will be unveiling the rumored Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title tomorrow, fun Pokémon Super Bowl commercial hits the web, Mighty No. 9 has been delayed (again), we update you on Hideo Kojima‘s World Tour, and Her Story is getting a spiritual successor.

Platinum pokes fun ahead of tomorrow’s TMNT announcement

Oh boy! The “official leak” is on the way. For a game that hasn’t been announced yet, we’ve seen quite a bit of content related to Platinum’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle title. Though Activision–who’ll be publishing the game–has yet to confirm anything, the folks behind the title had a bit of fun on Twitter earlier today.

They tweeted out the cheeky GIF above, which features an actual leak and the news that they’ll be unveiling their upcoming TMNT title tomorrow. Judging by the GIF’s art style, it looks to match up to the cel-shaded screenshots that have been making the rounds on the web. If it looks as slick as Transformers: Devastation (which we loved), color me excited.

In a time when everything seems to leak, it’s nice to see a developer having a bit of fun. Capcom behaved similarly during the PlayStation Experience last month, joking that they had something exciting to reveal that had yet to  be leaked.

The game is supposedly going to be titled: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. As for the release date, with the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows set to release on June 3rd of this year, we’re guessing the game will release around that time. Stay tuned for updates, once the news hits tomorrow.

This Pokémon Super Bowl commercial is the very best.

Though the Super Bowl is still two weeks away, The Pokémon Company decided to share the commercial that will be airing during the game. Though it’s not a trailer for a new title, the celebratory clip has got us having all kinds of feels. It’s hard to believe the franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Time sure flies when you’re catching cute little pocket monsters.

Mighty No. 9 has been delayed.

If you were excited to finally play Mighty No. 9 in two weeks, I have some bad news for you. It’s been delayed… again. Comcept relayed the news via the game’s official Kickstarter page earlier today. According to the report, the title has been pushed back yet again due to network issues.

“In preparation for the February release of Mighty No. 9 we have been working hard with our partners to resolve any network issues and porting work necessary to publish Mighty No. 9 on the various platforms.” stated Comcept. “However, the issues relating to the network modes were more critical than expected, and it has become apparent that we will need to delay the game from its February 9th release date. We have been working up until the very last moment to resolve these issues in order to make the February release, but it has become clear that we no longer have enough time to fix the issues and have everything prepared for release.”

As of right now, the studio is unable to give a launch window, but sounds optimistic that they will be able to release the game in Spring 2016.

For those that are keeping track, this isn’t the first delay for Mighty No. 9. In fact, it’s been less than four months since the title’s last delay. To be quite honest, if the game is experiencing network issues, it’s better to wait until it’s sorted out. We’ve seen far too many broken games release within the past few years.

Where in the world is Hideo Kojima?

If you follow either Hideo Kojima or Mark Cerny on Twitter, you’ve probably been keeping up with their PlayStation world tour. If not, don’t worry! We rounded up a few of their retweets earlier this morning (link below). Since the post went live, the duo has checked out VR at London Studio, and visited both SCEE headquarters and Media Molecule. So where are they headed next on their adventure to find the latest tech? Nobody knows! But, we’ll keep you updated.

Her Story spiritual successor is on the way.

It doest’t come as a surprise that the hit title, Her Story, will be getting a sequel. Sam Barlow tweeted the above image earlier today and indicated that “Her Story 2” (which is a working title) would be a spiritual successor, not a direct sequel, to the popular game.

In response to fans, he explained that it was in “no relation story wise to Her Story” but that it would include live-action acting (just as Her Story had) because it would be “rude not to.”
