Gaming Daily: PERSONA 4: DANCING ALL NIGHT is Getting Cross-Dressing DLC

It’s Friday again, everybody. It’s safe to say that it was hard to pay attention to anything after the sweet live-action Batman: Arkham Knight trailer swooped down on the web earlier today. While many of us were dreaming up ways of channelling our inner heroes, or becoming the Batman, there were a couple of other things that went down around the web. Luckily for you, we’re here to run down what you may have missed throughout the day. In today’s Gaming Daily: Atlus is adding cross dressing DLC to Persona 4: Dance All Night, CD Projekt Red discusses The Witcher 3’s graphical downgrade, and a new Destiny exotic makes cake of the game’s enemies.

See Yosuke, Kanji and Yu cross dress in Persona 4: Dancing All Night

There were a lot of surprising moments in Persona 4, but I’d have to say the most memorable (for many reasons) was probably when we got to see Yu, Kanji, and Yosuke don girly outfits, and strut their stuff on stage thanks to the girls. While we agree that the scene was certainly questionable, it comes as no surprise that the upcoming rhythm game Persona 4: Dancing All Night will be getting cross-dress DLC.

The trailer at the top of the page shows off feminine costumes for three of the game’s guys.Though the sneak peek is missing one of my favorite characters from the original scene, it was certainly nice to see Kanji-kun’s excellent Marilyn Monroe cosplay again.

The costumes are a part of the recently announced DLC coming to the game. In addition to Yu’s Sukeban Style, Kanji’s Sexy Dress and Yosuke’s High School Girl Look outfits, the paid pack will also contain the Seaweed Set. The other pack that will be up for sale includes several songs from the Persona 4: The Animation. If you aren’t looking to spend any money you’ll be able to score Teddie’s President Costume and the song “Shadow World” completely free of charge.

The Witcher 3 05222015

CD Projekt Red responds to criticism of The Witcher 3’s graphic downgrade

With the Witcher 3 officially out in the wild, one of the big criticisms of the game was that the graphics in the full release–which reviewed really well– didn’t exactly match up to content shown during the VGX awards two years ago. In an interview with Eurogamer, members from the studio spoke out about the topic.

CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski stated, “If you’re looking at the development process,” we do a certain build for a tradeshow and you pack it, it works, it looks amazing. And you are extremely far away from completing the game. Then you put it in the open-world, regardless of the platform, and it’s like ‘oh shit, it doesn’t really work’. We’ve already showed it, now we have to make it work. And then we try to make it work on a huge scale. This is the nature of games development.”

While the studio’s Adam Badowski remarks that it was indeed captured footage and not pre-rendered shown off in the trailer, he admits, “Maybe it was our bad decision to change the rendering system, because the rendering system after VGX was changed.” There were two possible rendering systems but one won out because it looked nicer across the whole world, in daytime and at night. The other would have required lots of dynamic lighting and with such a huge world simply didn’t work”.

Destiny Helmet 05252015

One of Destiny’s newest helmets allows Guardians to make quick work of bosses.

Shhhh don’t tell Bungie. Jokes aside, one of the game’s newest exotic helmets called the “Celestial Nighthawk” adds a perk to the hunter’s already powerful Golden Gun ability. According to the in-game description, once activated, the “Big Game” upgrade multiplies one Golden Gun shot by six. This is great news for those who favor the hunter class.

Just in case you weren’t already aware, the Golden Gun power grants someone playing as a hunter the ability to fire off several high powered solar shots at enemies for a short period of time. Though limited, with the “Big Game” perk activated, the shots will do an insane amount of damage.

Bear in mind, you can only snag this sweet helmet if you’ve purchased the House of Wolves expansion that released earlier this week. Even then, you’ll have to work hard and have a high enough level to wear it.  Those with the DLC have already been reaping the benefits of wearing the gear including this guy who took down Crota on a solo raid run. I guess you could say Crota met his end rather quickly. (Sorry) Given Bungie’s track record with OP weapons and cheesing bosses, it won’t be at all surprising if they catch on to this and alter the strength in a patch later on.
