Gaming Daily: Media Molecule’s TEARAWAY UNFOLDED Gets September Release Date

We’ve had a busy week here in Nerdist gaming, both preparing to attend E3 in a couple of days and covering all of the announcements, leaks, rumors, and glorious, glorious fan made creations like the Real Life Adaptation of GTA, and Link’s mischievous way of collecting rupees. Thankfully, there’s more where that came from. In today’s Gaming Daily, Tearaway Unfolded finally gets a release date, Lords of the Fallen Dev has plans to announce a Sci-Fi Dystopian RPG, EA will announce its next EA Access title at E3, Guerilla Games is teasing an announcement, and YouTube announced a new YouTube Gaming website app.

Tearaway Unfolded PS4 06122015

Tearaway Unfolded to release on PS4 September 8th for $39.99

Hooray! While we’re all still wondering whether or not Media Molecule will announce their new title in a few days, the innovative company went ahead and announced Tearaway Unfolded’s PS4 release date. According to the PlayStation blog, the game is set to hit North America on September 8, 2015.

What’s more is that it will retail for $39.99, and if you pre-order it, you’ll be able to score the limited “Crafted Edition” of Tearaway Unfolded which is bursting at the seams with bonus content, exclusive costumes, and decorations inspired by PlayStation Titles.

Hopefully this leaves more room during Sony’s press conference to talk about the new title.

Guerilla Games Joins Twitter and posts mysterious teaser image

We knew Killzone dev Guerilla was working on a PS4 title and that it was possibly going to be called “Horizon.” Now, thanks to a new image they posted on their official Facebook account, we might finally have our first official look at the brand new IP.

In addition to the image, they also finally joined Twitter. They’ve yet to tweet anything but we’re hoping their twitter feed fills up within the next couple of days.

DECK 13 Teaser

Deck 13 has a Dystopian Sci Fi RPG coming soon

No, we’re not here to talk about Lords of the Fallen. In fact, Deck 13 won’t be involved in the game’s sequel. What I am here to talk to you about however, is the news that they recently announced a partnership with Focus Home Interactive, whom they’ve been collaborating with on “premium action RPG IP set in a dystopian sci-fi future”

Oooh juicy. The developers divulged little information aside from the fact that it will feature “innovative combat mechanics, an original character progression system, and tight visceral combat,” and that it was coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2017. They’ve also released the image above which reveals that an announcement is “coming soon.”

On the partnership, Focus Home managing partner Cedric Lagarrigue stated, “We’ve been excited by Deck 13’s new project since our first exchange with them, and as we’ve just got through the pre-production phase, we’re fully convinced by their capacities to deliver one of the most exciting RPGs to come in the future.”

YouTube announced a new gaming specific website and app

Well, it looks like YouTube is giving Twitch a run for its money. Earlier today, the company took to the web to announce a new site specifically tailored for Let’s Plays, Guides, Reviews and more gaming goodness.

According to the announcement, games will have their own dedicated pages where you’ll be able to find items specifically based on selected titles. Additionally the broadcasting system will be redesigned so users will no longer have to schedule streams ahead of time, but will simply be able to share a single link.

EA ACCESS

Next Free EA Access Game to be revealed at E3.

If you’ve been on board with Electronic Arts’ EA Access program, get excited because the company has plans to announce the next free game for the Vault some time during E3. They added FIFA 15 over a month ago, so it will be interesting to see what they add next.

Other than the statement that the announcement is coming soon, they’re remaining tight lipped until their press conference. As of right now, Battlefield 4, Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, NHL 15, Fifa 15, Madden NFL 15, Need for Speed: Rivals and a couple of other titles are free with an EA access subscription.

The Xbox One exclusive service (at the moment anyways) grants users access to a 10 percent discount on EA content, early access to EA games prior to release, and access to their permanent library of free games. That is, if you fork over $5/month or $30/year.
