Halo: The Master Chief Collection Got Another Patch

It seems like Halo: The Master Chief Collection is still experiencing issues, as yet another patch meant to tidy up its multiplayer problems has been deployed. The latest patch includes several fixes, including changes to allow matches to begin once minimum player counts are met, streamlining party continuity, improved user experiences, and a resolution for false matches that ended up spiraling into other, different problems.

It’s been a trial and a half since the game actually came out last month, and fans are understandably frustrated by now. Perhaps the worst is over now, but one wonders if the game might have just needed a little extra time in the oven before release?

Does the image above get you more than a little excited about buying a new console or does it simply conjure images of an awesome time in gaming? PlayStation turned 20 today, and with that kind of birthday Sony celebrated the only way it knew how: by releasing this sweet new original PlayStation-themed PS4!

“Today marks 20 years of PlayStation consoles in homes around the world, and to salute the two decades of triangles, circles, Xs, and squares, Sony Computer Entertainment just unveiled a brand new 20th anniversary edition PlayStation 4. The thing is gorgeous, kawaii, and every other version of the word attractive that there is. The limited edition PS4 is colored “original grey” as a nod to the OG PlayStation, and there are only 12,300 of these beauties in existence globally. Sid Shuman of the PlayStation Blog is on hand to give us the first official unboxing.”

Review: Game of Thrones: Episode 1 – Iron From Ice

Our very own Dan Casey was on hand to take in the highs and lows of Telltale’s Game of Thrones opus for review, and it sounds like it was an excellent first episode!

“Like the first episode of any Game of Thrones season, Iron From Ice does its fair share of tablesetting, introducing us to important characters and painting a bloody picture of what’s to come. If you’re feeling lost, be sure to spend some time reading the in-game codexes which will get you up to speed on who is who. While you may feel like some of your decisions don’t have as much of an impact on the world of Westeros, keep in mind that patience is essential. Not only does the game tell you at the episode’s end that “Your story begins”, making this chapter serve as a prologue of sorts, but the choices you made now will echo throughout the remaining five episodes of the sprawling series. And I, for one, cannot wait to see the ways in which they reverberate in episode two because winter is here and it’s very, very fun.”

Nerdist: Play – And The Game of the Year Is…

The latest edition of Nerdist: Play is upon us, with our very own Malik running down one of the most popular topics in December as the year draws to a close: the game that will receive the honor of being known as the very best out of the entire year. Oh, and there’s something in there about that crazy Emagon business, too. What could that mean, anyway? Project Morpheus? A new game? Watch and maybe something will come to you!

“On this edition of Nerdist: Play, I’ll be firing off a list of games that I thoroughly enjoyed, before picking my very own game of the year– but not before checking out the game (or non game) known as “Emagon” that PlayStation Spain has been teasing for the last couple of days.”

That’s it for today’s Wednesday version of Gaming Daily! Remember to keep it locked on Nerdist for all of the juicy video game developments. Wanna talk about your favorite games or any of the news above? Feel free to tweet me any time @MolotovCupcake.
