Gaming Daily: Koei Tecmo’s ATTACK ON TITAN Game is Looking Fly

What’s everyone planning on playing this weekend? I’ve been enjoying the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta the last couple of days, and I plan to continue that until the servers are closed. The specialist classes are reminiscent of the guardian classes in Destiny, and will lend themselves nicely to getting that kill/death ratio up. Now to the news. In today’s Gaming Daily: Koei Tecmo’s Attack on Titan game looks aesthetically pleasing, Yo-Kai Watch could be the next Pokémon, the Rockstar Editor should be available on PS4 and Xbox One soon, turn your fridge into a giant Game Boy, and classics from the original Xbox may make their way onto the Xbox One.

Koei Tecmo’s Attack on Titan game is looking good.

My last encounter with an Attack on Titan video game was on the Nintendo 3DS. It was lackluster to say the least, which is a shame considering that swinging around a city like Spiderman and taking down giant humanoid monsters sounds like a blast. The good news is that Koei Tecmo and Omega Force are working on their very own Attack on Titan title which looks pretty good in the new screenshots that have been revealed.

Famitsu got the scoop, and though a trailer of some sort would have given us a better look at what we could expect, these pics look rather slick. The images include our three main characters flying around using their 3 dimensional maneuver gear, and looking pretty badass while doing so. Though this tells us almost nothing about the game, we can at least verify that aesthetically, it matches the feel of the manga.

I was fairly disappointed with Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains. It had plenty of fan service, but lacked the polish of a full retail title, so I’m optimistic that using more horse power, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force will be able to reproduce the high octane action depicted in the manga.

Yo-Kai Watch is headed to the West, could it be the next Pokémon?

Could Yo-Kai Watch really be the next Pokémon? Is that even possible? On today’s Nerdist News, our very own Jessica Chobot discusses why the type of craze surrounding the Pocket Monsters can strike again. Yo-Kai Watch will be coming west in the form of a dubbed anime series and a 3DS game for the first time later this year. The game is developed by Level-5, the team that brought us gems such as Fantasy Life and Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (along with Studio Ghibli).

There’s plenty to be excited about when it comes to this title. You will be tasked with catching the spirit monsters roaming around the environment, and using them to battle evil spirits. They even evolve into bigger spirit creatures. Yeah, that sounds a bit familiar. Where it does differ is in the lack of random encounters and the battle system. The combat won’t be turn-based, instead focusing on 3-on-3 battles where you’ll need to play mini-games to win. Count me in!

Rockstar Editor coming to PS4 and Xbox One soon.

Why should PC gamers have all the fun? The Rockstar editor has already spawned some of the greatest videos on the internet this year, and so far, only the keyboard warriors have had access to the editing tool. Imagine the possibilities with console owners also being able to fiddle with the editor. Rockstar has announced that it will, indeed, be headed to the PS4 and Xbox One soon. There’s no official date yet, but this is the first time the company mentioned it since they promised it back in May.

They casually made the announcement in the blog post announcing the Ill Gotten Gains Editor Contest winners. I’m excited to see what other spoofs, recreations, and reimagined items come to fruition from home console owners.

FreezerBoy

Turn your fridge into a giant Game Boy.

Why? Because why not. FreezerBoy has created giant magnets that you can plop onto your life sustaining house appliance to make it look like a giant Game Bo, just in case your friends didn’t already know how much you love vidya gamez. Unfortunately, it doesn’t actually play games, but hey, someone will eventually figure that out. The magnets look pretty nifty too. Having both the face buttons, and the screen makes it look legit.

Backwards compatibility

Original Xbox classics may one day make an appearance on the Xbox One.

Phil Spencer has done a spectacular job being the face of Xbox. He is always active on social media, answering fan questions. Recently, he was asked on Twitter whether titles from the original Xbox would one day be part of the backwards compatibility plans. Never shying away from a question, the head of the Xbox division had the following to say:

I’m not sure what games people would be interested in playing, but it would be a nice way of bolstering the already impressive roster of games on the console.

That’s it for today, folks. Let’s hope the internet continues to spawn fantastic Grand Theft Auto videos. Will you help crank out more GTA V videos? Let us know in the comments section below.
