Gaming Daily: HYRULE WARRIORS Review Round Up, BATTLEBORN Gameplay Footage Hits the Web

For those of you who’ve come down from the Final Fantasy XV high courtesy of the TGS trailer that released not to long ago, we’ve got a couple of cool developments in the gaming world that may be relevant to your interest. Wii U owners, Zelda fans and Dynasty Warriors die hards may want to pay special attention to the following, as you next Wii U purchase may very well depend on your reading of the story below.

Hyrule Warriors reviews are coming in.

Hyrule Warriors is coming next Friday, September 26, and the review scores have been trickling in all day. It looks like for the most part, the game has been garnering relatively decent scores, and was also engaging enough to keep our Editor-in-Chief Brian Walton in office after hours playing it on a Friday night. I’ll let that speak for itself. Here’s a look at the numbers the game’s been generating across the web:

Game Informer: 8/10
Joystiq: 4/5
Polygon: 5.5/10
Eurogamer: 8/10
CVG: 8/10
IGN: 7/10
Destructoid: 8.5/10
US Gamer: 3.5/5
Kotaku: Yes
The Escapist: 4.5/5

Battleborn gameplay footage hits the interweb.

The first footage of Gearbox’s “hero shooter” Battleborn hit the web earlier today, and all signs point to the game being pretty damn awesome from as far as I can tell. Aside from the game’s abstract art-style, we learned that this game is in fact not a MOBA, but rather a game with both 5v5 competitive gameplay as well as 5 player cooperative gameplay. We also learned that the cast of characters appear to be quite charming, like the kunai flinging mushroom who is sure to be my first pick when I finally get my hands on this game. Come on, you just can’t beat that.

That about wraps it for Wednesday’s Gaming Daily. Always keep it parked here on Nerdist for all of the juicy video game developments, and to chat about our beloved medium, I’m only one tweet away: @Malik4play.
