Gaming Daily: Find Hidden Pumpkins in UNTIL DAWN

Weekends are always the best, but this one in particular, is even cooler because it’s Halloween. It’s the one time of the year where you can go out in a full penguin ensemble (not a suit) without getting a funny glances in your direction. If age appropriate, you can even nab some free candy. I’ll be hiding under a blanket as I make my way through the always spooky PS4 title, Until Dawn. If you joined our Extra Life stream last weekend then you know we played through the whole game, so this time I want to make a couple of different choices, just to see what happens to all the characters. I also want to find some pumpkins, but more on that below.

Now, let’s get to the spooky news of the day. In today’s Gaming Daily: find hidden pumpkins in Until Dawn this weekend, somebody recreated the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer using Destiny footage, Microsoft believes tens of millions of Xbox 360 owners will move to Xbox One, we posted our review of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and rumor has it that No Man’s Sky is in development hell.

Find hidden pumpkins in Until Dawn.

If you plan on booting up Until Dawn this weekend, like myself, you may want to keep your eyes peeled for hidden secrets. Super Massive games is celebrating Halloween by stashing 11 pumpkins throughout the game. This is only a limited time event for this weekend. So, if you’re as big a fan of this game as we are, then you might want to partake in the festivities.

Sony is also releasing an Until Dawn PlayStation 4 theme completely free of charge. Boom! Better than sweets, well, sort of. Super Massive Games also held a director’s cut live stream of the game today, and I found that to be absolutely fantastic. The narrative in this game is so engrossing that getting a film-like directors cut just feels right.

I don’t think Sony ever predicted this game would be this successful. The lack of marketing says as much. Like a good B horror movie, this game has instantly become a cult-classic.

Star Wars trailer re-imagined in Destiny.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, then you know that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is kind of a big deal. The film hasn’t even hit the big screen yet, and fans are already enamored with it. Every trailer that releases basically breaks the internet. So, with that being said, it totally makes sense that Destiny players would use their down time to use the popular space game to re-imagine the latest trailer for the space sci-fi film. You can watch it above. This is obviously pretty sweet, though, I think it’s safe to say that Guardians will never be as cool as Jedi.

Microsoft believes tens of millions of Xbox 360 owners will move to Xbox One.

Despite not selling as well as the insanely successful PS4, the Xbox One is doing pretty damn well. It’s already outpacing the Xbox 360 in terms of sales. So, with that being said, there are still a ton of people who have yet to jump onboard with new hardware, and Microsoft knows as much. When speaking to Gamespot, Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg said he fully believes people will finally move to Xbox One.

“There’s tens of millions of Xbox 360 fans that are out there that are still playing on Xbox 360 and they’re waiting for the right time and the right reason to migrate over to Xbox One,” said Greenberg.

He continued, “whether they’ve been waiting for the first true next-gen Halo with Halo 5 or if they’ve been waiting for solutions like backwards compatibility, we do expect to see a pretty massive migration this holiday of those fans.”

He’s not wrong. At the beginning of this generation of home consoles, people were going from the Xbox 360 to the PS4, so that’s a huge chunk of people that Microsoft lost. With the latest moves the company has made to improve their console, there’s even more reason to upgrade from the 360 specifically to the One.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate Image

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate review.

I personally have a love/hate relationship with the Assassin’s Creed franchise. I absolutely loved the first two games, but I’m not too keen on the rest of the series. Maybe it’s just assassin fatigue? If you’re in the same camp, or are simply interested in what to expect from Syndicate, check out our review. All of the graphical upgrades are impressive, and it’s actually a polished AAA title, unlike Assassin’s Creed Unity. Making the leads siblings also provides a new spin on the franchise. No Man's Sky

No Man’s Sky, more like No Man’s Land.

As you already know, Hello Games revealed that their highly anticipated title, No Man’s Sky, wouldn’t be releasing until June 2016. For a game that was supposed to grace our consoles this year, that’s a significant delay. Well, it seems like the team may be having development issues, specifically on the PS4. The rumor comes from Destructoid’s UK editor, Laura Kate Dale. When appearing on episode 49 of the Podquisition, Dale mentioned that the game is running into some issues. She also mentioned the game was supposed to make an appearance at a UK event, but was pulled due to technical difficulties.

If true, the delay makes complete sense. Even if this isn’t 100% accurate, there has to be something going on with the game completely whiffing the 2015 launch, and all. I do think overexposure of this title is completely killing the hype. After hearing so much about it, and even seeing demos of it, fans just want to play it already.

I don’t think this is a serious problem at the moment. Games take a lot of work to optimize on a certain platform. We can start panicking if it get’s pushed back to a further date, then we’ll have something to worry about.
