It’s Friday, Friday, Fri… Yeah. I’ll stop now. But I can’t contain myself, since not only did Minecraft launch for the Xbox One today, but we also got news that Goro is making a return in Mortal Kombat X. I’m super hyped to get all bloody in April when the game drops, but since we’ve got a bit of time before then, let’s get acquainted with today’s gaming news.
Destiny on PS Vita.
Destiny‘s just around the corner and while many of you are already waiting in line to pick up your white PlayStation 4 bundles, you may want to snag yourself a PS Vita as well. Sid Shuman of the official PlayStation Blog has tested the remote play experience of Destiny and gave us a quick rundown of the game’s handheld control scheme in the video above. From the looks of it, Bungie has put a lot of thought to using everything that the Vita has to offer, most notably its touch screen. You can throw grenades by tapping on the left side of the 5-inch screen, while the right side does a melee attack, with the center portion summoning the ghost and returning your character to orbit. As beautiful as Destiny looks on a bigger screen, playing on the Vita does allow for a convenient experience, especially if you don’t want to miss a single moment when you have to run to the bathroom.
Microsoft Improves Xbox Live Rewards.
Microsoft is now offering more ways for Xbox 360 and Xbox One players to earn credits with their new and improved Xbox Live Rewards. The skinny of it all, for those of you who don’t want to deal with the technical jargon (like myself): the more you spend, play video games, unlock achievements, or use apps such as Netflix, the bigger the return you get in actual money. Being an Xbox Live Gold member also helps as you’ll get 10% back on purchases versus the 5% for you regular subscription folks out there. You can find out more about the program and how much of a return you’ll get on the official Rewards page. Do you think these returns will sway your gaming habits? Let us know in the comments below.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue Latest Trailer.
The Assassin Hunter strikes his prey down in this latest trailer for Assassin’s Creed Rogue. This time you’re in the shoes of Shay Patrick Cormac, a faithful follower of The Creed and a loyal member of The Brotherhood — that is, until he was betrayed. Now he follows his own creeds and takes on familiar faces. Filthy Templar! The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game will release alongside Assassin’s Creed Unity on November 11.
