Gaming Daily: Blizzard’s Robin Williams Tribute, SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS Movie, Pikachu Plays Dress-Up

It’s a beautiful day in the gaming neighborhood, with a free game of your choice for purchasing an Xbox One and Minecraft for the Xbox One releasing tomorrow! I seriously cannot wait to start punching trees and playing with dirt blocks. But before I start squealing about my excitement over free stuff and mine crafting, here’s a quick look at today’s other gaming news stories.

Robin Williams’ World of Warcraft tributes have been discovered.

It was a heartbreaking time when we heard of actor/comedian Robin Williams’ passing. But Blizzard was quick to respond to a petition to get Williams into the game, and have acted with haste to implement homage after homage into World of Warcraft. Spotted by the folks over at WoWHead, they’ve nabbed some screens of Robin as a Genie on an island off of Talador’s coast, another NPC in the guise of Mrs. Doubtfire, and a giant broken egg as a tribute to Mork, Robin’s suspender-wearing alter ego. If you spot any of these in your journey through the lands of World of Warcraft, or any other Robin Williams tributes, share them with us in the comments below.

Shadow of the Colossus movie gets a director.

Looks like the Shadow of the Colossus movie is getting a bit of traction. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Sony has named Mama director Andres Muschietti to helm the film, with a script by Hanna co-writer Seth Lochhead. There’s still no ETA on when the film will drop, but here’s to hoping the project pushes through so movie goers will cry their eyes out as much as players did.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire gets a new trailer.

Pikachu plays dress-up in the latest trailer for the upcoming Pokemon remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. We get a closer look at the game’s stunning world and monster designs. We even get a glimpse of the new mega evolutions. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire launch November 21 exclusively for the 3DS.
