Gaming Daily: Become Your Favorite Spartan with Sweet HALO Replica Helmets

With today now behind us, it means that we are less than a week away from Fallout 4. If you’ve yet to notice, it’s kind of a big deal. Even if you’re not a fan of the franchise, it’s hard not to get wrapped up in all of the excitement. Personally, I can’t wait for this game to finally hit the masses. Some of us have been waiting years for this. Alas, it’s almost time my friends. Until then, let’s get to today’s news. In today’s Gaming Daily: purchase a replica Spartan helmet,  prepare your Fallout 4 character build using a new unofficial tool, Skyrim has already been ported to the Xbox One, Forza 6 is getting new Fallout 4-themed vehicles, and avatars are coming to the PS4 next week.

Halo Spartan Replica Helmet

Represent your favorite Spartan with these replica Halo helmets.

Hardcore fans of Halo 5: Guardians are going to want to pay attention to this. Triforce has started to accept pre-orders for replica Halo 5 helmets. Right now only two are available; one from Blue Team, and the other from Osiris. Representing Blue Team is not the Master Chief, instead you can nab Spartan Kelly’s head gear. As for Osiris, you can of course purchase Locke’s helmet. Each one will set you back $650, but the extreme price may be worth it for cosplayers. They will be extremely limited, with only 500 being made.

These helmets are crafted and cast in polystone and measure 12.9” in length. All of the finishing touches are done by hand, and also include lights for the full effect. These are high-quality helmets that weigh a whopping 15 lbs. Get them while you still can. They are due to ship Q2 of 2016.

Fiddle with the Fallout 4 SPECIAL stats with this new tool.

Fans have created a Fallout 4 build planner which uses recently leaked info to allow you to tinker with the different SPECIAL stats online. It’s simple to use, and it will save you the headache when the game comes out. Simply build a character the way you want, so that you already have a plan ready when the game is finally booted on your platform.

Skyrim-06132015

Skyrim has already been ported to the Xbox One.

Bethesda is obviously prepping for the launch of Fallout 4, but some interesting info about a different IP was shared by the studio recently. Apparently, Skryim has already been ported to the Xbox One. Before you get too excited, it looks like we won’t get to play Skyrim on the new hardware anytime soon. When speaking to Game Informer, Bethesda’s Todd Howard revealed that the team ported the game over as an “exercise.” He quickly destroyed everyone’s hope of getting to play this port by saying we shouldn’t get our hopes up about it.

Well, that sucks. Many had predicted that some sort of remaster of the open-world masterpiece would hit the new consoles, but nothing ever came to fruition. I’m sure there’s a lot more to releasing this port that has made the company think twice before doing it. By using it as an exercise the team can familiarize themselves with the architecture, so that their newest game–in this case Fallout 4–runs well on these machines.

Still, I know most everyone would go nuts for Skyrim on current consoles.

Forza-6-Fallout-4-2-11042015

Fallout 4-themed vehicles coming to Forza 6.

Here’s more wasteland goodness for you: Forza 6 is getting Fallout 4-themed DLC. Two vehicles are being added, with one already being available. First up is the 1956 Ford F100 with Vault-Tec inspired blue and yellow paint. It’s free to every Forza 6 player. The second vehicle will be the Chryslus Rocket 69. That one will be available to those Xbox One owners who will be playing Fallout 4 on said console. Both look like a blast to race, so make sure to download them.

PS4

Avatars are coming to the PS4.

Sony has announced that avatars are now coming to the PS4…yay? The announcement came via the official PlayStation Twitter account. This is actually not something new to the PlayStation ecosystem, as they have been around since the PS3 days (remember those simpler times?), but this will be the first time you’ll be able to purchase them from the PS4 shop. It’s so weird that it took this long.

I know, this isn’t the most glamorous update, but it was one of the requests on the survey sent out too long. That means Sony is slowly going through everyone’s demands, which could be a good sign for those still waiting out on a PlayStation Network gamertage change.
