Gaming Daily: A New Trailer for THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TWILIGHT PRINCESS HD

Fridays always tend to be the most interesting and this week is no different. Today, we’ll look at the possibility of Danny DeVito voicing Detective Pikachu, and even a launch window for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Is your body ready for this? I’m not sure mine is.

In today’s Gaming Daily, a new The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD trailer launched, EA confirmed a launch window for highly anticipated sequels, we now know how well the Xbox One is selling, fans want Danny DeVito to voice Pikachu, and a brand new Mega Man Legacy Collection collector’s edition has surfaced on Amazon.

New Twilight Princess trailer highlights story elements

Need a refresher on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess‘ story before the HD re-release launches later this year? Don’t worry, Nintendo has published a new story trailer that summarizes the initial plot points that led to Link’s grand quest. For those that already know all about the story, the clip above does offer a look at plenty of gameplay footage. Peep the video above (but avoid it if you haven’t played the game).

Obviously, it’s looking better than ever. Wolf Link is incredibly intimidating and the set-pieces are more impressive in full HD. But, for the most part, it seems like the game is staying the same–excluding the amiibo and gamepad functionality, which is simply fan service.

You can grab a copy of this title on March 4. Time to boot up the ol’ Wii U.

Next Mass Effect, Titanfall, and Battlefield coming next winter.

In a conference call with investors, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed that Mass Effect, Titanfall, and Battlefield‘s next installments will be launching in the second half of the fiscal year, which translates to some time between October 2016 and March 2017. We already knew these games were coming at some point, so there’s no surprises there.

I don’t know how confident I am that Mass Effect: Andromida will be launching so soon, especially since we have yet to see much of it. EA will likely have a lot more to show at the inaugural EA Play.

We now know how well the Xbox One is doing.

As we mentioned above, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen had an interesting conference call with investors yesterday, which revealed a lot of hidden truths. For example, he mentioned that the combined install base for the PS4 and Xbox One is currently sitting at 55 million units. We can use this estimation to figure out how many people have purchased an Xbox One, since Microsoft refuses to report the sales numbers themselves.

Sony recently reported that 36 million PS4s had been sold over the course of two years, so by using simple arithmetic, we can estimate that 19 million Xbox One’s are currently out in the wild–which is mightily impressive.

It’s clear why Microsoft doesn’t want to report these numbers–they’re getting destroyed by Sony when it comes to sales. However, the hardware is still flying off shelves when compared to its predecessor. Overall, this is a great sign for the gaming industry. Many had feared the end of home console gaming not too long ago, and this staggering install base clearly disproves that notion.

Fans want Danny DeVito to voice detective Pikachu.

Fan, Sairith Aramor, started a Change.org petition in hopes of convincing Nintendo of America to enlist Danny DeVito to provide the voice for the new crime-solving Pikachu. The petition has already garnered a ton of attention, with 22,000 people already signing it. Eventually, Nintendo will have to at least acknowledge the petition. Whether the Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor will actually gets the role is an entirely different story. I, for one, think it’s a match made in heaven.

Mega-man-Legacy-Collection-01282016

A new collector’s edition for the Mega Man Legacy Collection surfaces.

A brand new collector’s edition for the upcoming physical release of the Mega Man Legacy Collection has been spotted on Amazon. It will include a Mega Man statue and E-Tank. Other than looking rad, the buster and helmet also light up when they touch. It’s a sweet bundle for sure, but it’ll set you back a whopping $129 for either the Xbox One or PS4 version.

However, it’s not actually an official collector’s edition from Capcom. The publisher confirmed to Rockman Corner that Amazon created this bundle, hence why you can only get it there. That will certainly diminish its value, but it still looks to be a great display piece regardless. Pre-orders are now live if you’d like to nab one of these.
