Gamestop Wants Your Old SKYLANDERS, DISNEY INFINITY Figures

NFC minifigs aren’t just toys: they’re a movement. Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and soon Nintendo’s Amiibo figures are going to continue to make a lasting impact in the gaming market, so much so that they’ve garnered special attention from one of the largest video game retailers on stateside

DIninity2Gamestop was already allowing players to trade in their old Skylanders figures for store credit, and after two years they’ve decided to silently open their registers up for Disney Infinity minifigs as well. The starter pack figurines can range anywhere between $1-$5 in trade-in value, while the personalized figurines can go for up to as much as $10. So the option is there for anyone who’s looking to condense their assortment of figurines, though I personally thought collecting them was part of the attraction to these franchises.

With digital downloads becoming more trendy these days, it’s probably in Gamestop’s best interest to sell and allow trade-ins on any used game related accessories. Hell, maybe soon even video game related clothing and apparel will be accepted at the store as well. Gamestop’s Closet, anyone?

Can you see yourself capitalizing on these trade offers and cashing in on your old figurines? Thunder bolt your inner-most feelings about this into the comments below.
