GAME OF THRONES to Host Epic Fan Event, Premiere New Episode in Brooklyn

Start booking your flights to New York City now, citizens of Westeros, because fans of Game of Thrones in and around the tri-state area are in for a treat. HBO has decided to celebrate the series’ April 6th return with an “Epic Fan Experience” set to take place on March 20th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. There, not only will 7,000 lucky fans be treated to an advance screening of the fourth season’s premiere episode, they’ll also be privy to a veritable smorgasbord of costumes and prop displays from Game of Thrones: The Exhibition. Yes, you, too, will have a chance to freak out ala Ben Wyatt and get your picture taken on the Iron Throne. And that’s just the special stuff they’ve decided to tell us about — word on the street is there are several special surprises also in store for the evening. (Fingers crossed for dragons!)

Stuff so exclusive, it seems, that they’re banning the use of cellphones and cameras at the event entirely. Someone is taking this no-spoiler business as seriously as the oath to join the Black.

Tickets for the event go on sale to the public at Ticketmaster on Thursday, March 6th for $15, with all net proceeds donated to two charities: Nothing But Nets and Books for Africa. So even just by going you’re doing good. Now, you really have no excuse.

Game of Thrones‘ fourth season premieres Sunday, April 6th at 9:00pm ET on HBO.

Planning to attend the event? Let us hear about it in the comments.

  1. I really wish Nerdist had done fuller reporting here. What they should have said is:

Tickets go on sale to American Express cardholders on 3/5 at 2 PM, NYU students 3/6 at 10 AM, and the general public at 10:10 AM.

And they also should have recommended that people use the automated phone line, since that seems to have been the best way to get tickets šŸ˜‰

I know, sam! It isnt working! This is so painful

  3. Sam says:

Why would you say it’s open to public at 10am when it’s only open to students right now? When does it actually open for public?

  4. I’ve never been so happy to live so close to the Barclay’s Center. Can’t wait šŸ™‚
