GAME OF THRONES Intro with Household Items

Game of Thrones has one of the more iconic intros on television today. It perfectly sets the tone for the show and, if you’re anything like me, gets you all sorts of excited for each episode. As the camera pans over the clockwork representation of the known world as the bands rotating around around the sun tell the story of Robert’s Rebellion (The Baratheon stag, Lannister Lion, and Stark Direwolf banding together to overthrow the Targaryen dragon). Back in April, College Humor’s Game Of Thrones Wish Fulfillment series made their own equally beautiful title sequence with household items and board games.

This intro includes a Castle Black made of Monopoly and Lego against a Wall made of half gallon’s of ice cream (who wouldn’t want to be part of THAT Night’s Watch?), Mereen made of Jenga pieces and an origami crane, King’s Landing made from the game of Life and a well placed Sven (Frozen) toy and the iconic story telling bands made of belts rotating around a desk fan sun. The title sequence even comes with an a cappella version of the Game of Thrones… theme song(?) which is on par with other parodies like South Park’s somewhat not so safe for work “wiener-fied” intro song.

In the past, we’ve seen interpretations of this title sequence with Little Big Planet, Mario Bros., Skyrim, and may have gotten it’s highest praise with a Simpsons re-imagining. It’s always great to see inventive takes on this sequence and this, let’s call it a “Sweded” version, is one of our favorites.
