FX To Resume Tracy Morgan Series Upon Actor’s Full Recovery

This past weekend, Tracy Morgan suffered severe injuries when a Walmart truck driver struck his limo bus in New Jersey. Morgan is alive and in stable condition, but he reportedly has a long recovery ahead of him. Due to his injuries, Morgan might not be able to move forward with his FX/FXx series as originally scheduled. FX has issued a statement saying that they will be ready to work with Morgan as soon as he recovers.

FX Networks issued a statement this morning that read:

“The only thing we are concerned with is the health and recovery of Tracy Morgan and the victims of this tragic accident. We will support Tracy and his family in every way possible throughout his recovery. At the point when Tracy has recovered and decides that he is ready to go back to work, his show will be waiting for him. Right now our thoughts and prayers remain with Tracy, the other victims of the accident, and their families.”

Morgan was with comedians Ardie Fuqua, Harris Stanton, Jeffrey Millea at the time of the accident. They all sustained injuries, but it was another comedian and writer, James McNair, who was tragically killed. The truck driver who struck Morgan’s limo bus allegedly hadn’t slept in 24 hours.

Tracy Morgan’s series had been set to start production this summer and premiere next year, but the schedule will most likely be pushed back pending Tracy’s recovery. Still, it’s good to see a network keep the faith in one of its stars even before their series has been made.
