Funko Rolls out a Full Line of THE DARK CRYSTAL Action Figures

Funko have been reeeeeal teases on this one. First they revealed the Landstrider as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive. Next, the Garthim with a winged Kira as a New York Comic Con exclusive. Finally, they’re now admitting what we always hoped–there’s a whole series of figures from The Dark Crystal coming, and even if you missed the exclusives you can still get the key characters.

Loosely based on a proposed ’80s Dark Crystal tie-in toy line that never happened, Funko’s ReAction series includes a buildable version of the titular crystal, with one piece of it coming in each series 1 package. The line kicks off with Gelfling heroes Jen and Kira (with Fizzgig), the Skeksis Chamberlain, crabby seer Aughra, and mystic UrSol in a deluxe box package. Collect them all to build the one and only Dark Crystal…albeit a slightly smaller one than depicted on the package. Toy lines cheat scale all the time to keep things affordable; an actual figure-scaled Millennium Falcon would cost a grand and take up your entire room, y’all.

NECA made the Skeksis Chamberlain once upon a time, but there has never been a full toy line for the Jim Henson/Brian Froud fantasy collaboration, and that’s a damned shame, because there are so many possible figures to be had. Pod People! The merged UrSkeks! The hybrid plant/animal critters! As always, collect them all if you want to see more. A playset of Aughra’s observatory is probably unlikely, but we can dream.
