Fun Times Ahead at PAX EAST 2014 in Boston

While Brian, Dan, and Becca are scampering about (and rocking out to Outkast, those lucky jerks) in Coachella this weekend, Armi and I will be over in the spaghetti-mapped metropolis of Boston for the eastern iteration of the Penny Arcade Expo, or PAX East for short. There are few things I love more than a good ol’ PAX convention, and while diving into the crowds of our fellow nerds to fanboy/fangirl out over the many magnificent games being displayed on the show floor is certainly in the cards, we also have a plethora of excellent inside looks lined up exclusively for your reading pleasure here on Nerdist.com.

First on the agenda is Ubisoft, who will be on hand to show off a slew of titles, including the beautiful side-scrolling turn-based RPG Child of Light, the delayed next-gen cyber thriller Watch Dogs, and much more. Following that, we’ll be sitting down with Bethesda to get the inside scoop on the Nazi-massacring first-person shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order, as well as checking out the spooks and scares that lie ahead in Shinji Mikami’s upcoming survival horror title, The Evil Within.

Next up, the great folks at Blizzard will be giving us an in-depth look at Heroes Of The Storm, Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, and the iPad version of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. Then, Square Enix has invited us for a special demo of their upcoming action-adventure title from beyond the pale, Murdered: Soul Suspect.

Before the show is over, we’ll be heading over to the 2K booth (which is conveniently being hosted by our very own Chloe Dykstra and Michele Morrow, so please do stop by and say hello) to check out Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Evolve and the Turtle Beach booth to check out the big time MLG tournaments that will be taking place, and then shooting over to the many indie game booths to check out some of the self-publishing sexiness.

Phew, that’s quite the packed schedule so far, I must say! And that’s barely scratching the surface on the games we’ll be getting hands-on time with out at the event. Are you heading out to PAX East? If so, please don’t hesitate to find us to share a high five of epic proportions– we’ll be tweeting our locations for most of the weekend. And if you have any questions for any of the aforementioned games, feel free to tweet those as well or just drop them down in the comments below. Hope to see you all in Boston!
