Watch the Trailer for the FROZEN Broadway Musical

For the past few weeks, Disney has been releasing new songs from its Frozen musical on Broadway. And now that the show is officially open, a new trailer is providing additional context for the latest tunes. While the story is directly based on Disney’s animated blockbuster, there just weren’t enough songs to carry a full musical stage production, so Frozen‘s original songwriting team, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, returned to create 12 additional numbers for this show.

The trailer also features Patti Murin as Anna, as she shares a dance with Hans (John Riddle) and travels with Kristoff (Jelani Alladin) on a rickety bridge. We see a bit of a scene between Anna and Kristoff, where they perform “What Do You Know About Love?,” which gives them the duet they never received in the film. We also see the coronation scene, where Elsa (Caissie Levy) will voice her inner fears in “Dangerous to Dream,” and fend off angry villagers with a rendition of “Monster.”

Perhaps the most intriguing part of this trailer is that it reveals how the Broadway show will handle the depiction of Elsa’s powers and the puppetry behind one of the main characters. Greg Hildreth portrays Olaf in the show, and his puppet looks like it escaped from the animated film. Andrew Pirozzi is wearing a full body costume to portray Sven, Kristoff’s loyal reindeer.
