Listen to FROZEN Broadway Musical’s New Elsa Ballad “Dangerous to Dream”

Later this month, Disney’s Frozen will officially debut on Broadway after finishing its preview run. The newly expanded musical will include 12 songs that were created specifically for this show. Now, Disney is allowing fans to listen to “Dangerous to Dream,” an original tune that provides some additional characterization for Elsa. In the film, Elsa can be seen briefly struggling with her nerves before her coronation. “Dangerous to Dream” further explores the moment by allowing Elsa to vocalize her desire to reconnect with her sister, Anna, as well as her fear that the people of Arendelle will discover powers.

“Dangerous to Dream” was performed by Caissie Levy, the actress who is stepping into the role made famous by Idina Menzel. All of the new songs were written and composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the team behind Frozen‘s original music. As part of the lead into the opening, Disney has released one new song per week. We’ve previously covered an Anna and Kristoff’s duet, “What Do You Know About Love?“, as well as “Monster,” another Elsa solo.

According to USA Today, next week’s preview song will be “True Love,” a solo number for Anna that takes place late in the story as she struggles with her ideas about love while fighting for her life. But if you just can’t wait to hear it, the Frozen musical is currently in previews before its opening night on March 22.
