FROZEN Broadway Musical’s New Song is a Duet for Anna and Kristoff

Winter is coming to the lands far beyond Arendelle, as Disney’s Frozen settles in for a promising stint on Broadway a mere five years after it smashed box office records. The newly expanded musical is currently in previews, but Disney is releasing one new song from the show every week for a month. Last week, fans got to hear Elsa’s new solo ballad, “Monster.” Now, it’s time for Anna and Kristoff to get their chance.

In the film, the budding lovebirds never got to share a song together. “What Do You Know About Love?” fills that gap and takes place early in their courtship, as they make their way up a perilous mountain path shortly after Anna gets engaged to Prince Hans.

This song was performed by Patti Murin and Jelani Alladin, who respectively play Anna and Kristoff in the Broadway show. Frozen‘s original songwriting team, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, created this tune along with the 11 additional songs that have been added for the show. “What Do You Know About Love?” replaces the wolf attack that bonded Anna and Kristoff in Disney’s original version of the story. This time, Kristoff and Anna will slowly come together while openly bickering about the nature of love before finding their common ground and saving each other’s lives.

According to Yahoo, Kristoff has a solo reprise of this song later in the musical, when Anna’s heart is freezing. In that report, Kristen Anderson-Lopez called it “one of my favorite moments in the show.”
