FRIENDS Intro Recreated in GRAND THEFT AUTO V

Grand Theft Auto V’s Rockstar editor is the gift that keeps on giving. With such a highly imaginative community tinkering around with the tools allotted to them, the possibilities are endless for what can be reimagined in the city of Los Santos. Case in point: now we have this awesome recreation of the beloved, and iconic intro credit scene from Friends with a little GTA twist. And yes, the couch, lamp, and the fountain are all included.

The short video created by Merfish has all of our favorite characters from Grand Theft Auto V doing their best impressions of the lovable 90’s television friends. Some changes had to be made of course, just to give it the more accurate Los Santos flavor. Peep the video above.

Now, some creative choices were obviously made here. For one, the colorful umbrellas were ditched for some delightfully tinted rocket launchers. Upon further inspection, there’s even an inclusion of some adult toys taking the place of rubber duckies in one of the scenes. All that said, it still attempts to stay close to the source material—even some of the poses match up to the real life counterparts. Best of all, the silly dancing in water is also included, along with some friendly uppercuts and tasers. It’s really a family affair.

Granted, the amount of violence wouldn’t be as hilarious in any other situation, but how else would a gathering between mates go in this fictional city? You can even watch the side-by-side comparison of the reimagined intro, and the actual intro for reference provided by the same creator.

Of course we’re a bit biased as to which Friends reboot we like the best:

Hopefully the community continues to pump out these gems. What do you think about the video? What other television intro should be recreated? Let us know in the comments below.
