Frank Ocean Finally Has A New Song!

#Yussssssssss.

Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange was our favorite album of 2012 because it represented one of those perfect moments when a tender emotional narrative aligned with a similarly vulnerable composition. Frank’s artwork always feels like logical extension of his identity, and listening to his music is like getting coffee with a friend, while they open up about life, death and, heartbreak. The candor is what permeated his last album and made it truly great.

But that was all the way back in 2012 and Frank has beed astoundingly quiet since then. There was a guest verse here and there, but nothing original from the R&B maven — until now. Frank, as he and the the rest of Odd Future are wont to do, took to Tumblr to release “Memrise”– perhaps a demo, perhaps a finished thought. It is a dreamy, viscid track that most closely resembles the interstitial tissue on Channel Orange that connected one song to another. Very curious if this will end up on his next album, and just about his next album in general. God, we love this guy.

How do you think this stacks up to Frank Ocean’s other material? Are you stoked for more tracks? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
