Fox Improv Show RIOT Will Feature Steve Carell, Jason Alexander, Cheryl Hines

Improv is back on TV. After the return of Aisha Tyler’s Whose Line Is It Anyway? on The CW, there’s apparently enough momentum for more improvisation on television that Fox is set to come out with its own improv series, Riot, on May 13th at 9/8c.

Riot will have a core set of very funny improvisers comprised of John Ross Bowie, Jamie Denbo, Brian Palermo, Jordan Black, Jessica McKenna, Meryl Hathaway, and Rob Gleeson, all alums from UCB, The Groundlings, and more. Aussie comedian Rove McManus, who you’ve seen on the Nerdist Channel on Set List, will host, but even more impressive is the list of guest stars committed to the show:

Steve Carell
Jason Alexander
Cheryl Hines
D.L. Hughley
Tom Green
Chris Kattan
Mayim Bialik
David Arquette
Oscar Nunez
Andy Dick
Orlando Jones
Nicole Sullivan
Michael Ian Black
Will Sasso
Andy Buckley
Rob Delaney

So, in theory, with Riot we could see what it would be like if Oscar joined Michael Scott’s improv class from the “E-mail Surveillance” episode of The Office.
