Something strange is coming to Fortnite, and it’s leaking into our world. It turns out the dancing Thanos won’t be the weirdest thing we’ve seen in Fortnite this year. Fortnite season five is coming later this week, and early hints from Epic Games suggest the fan-favorite battle royale title is about to introduce elements of time travel to its already wild landscape. Today’s Nerdist News explains why Fortnite fans are freaking out over the latest turn of events.
Join the host with all of the heals, Jessica Chobot, as she runs down the build up to Fortnite season five. It all started with an in-game event which featured a rocket launch that literally broke the sky and opened up some kind of breach. The sky rift became impossible to ignore when it kept on growing and strange objects started appearing in the game.
One of the most notable objects has been the anchor, which looks like it was used on an ancient ship. And as an added bit of strangeness, the “Durrr Burger” sign disappeared from the game world and was “discovered” by a photographer on the outskirts of Los Angeles with warnings about an anomaly. An agent guarding the location is also handing out cards with coordinates for an in-game location called “Greasy Grove.”
There are more objects and secrets to discover, and we’re eager to find additional answers when Fortnite season five officially begins.
