Flying Lotus fans, rejoice: the producer has announced that his next album, You’re Dead!, is coming out on October 7 via Warp.
The LP, his first album since 2012’s Until the Quiet Comes and Duâlity (under his alter alter ego Captain Murphy) doesn’t yet have a track list or any singles, but it will be preceded and supported by a cross-country tour.
Until the Quiet Comes saw Flying Lotus (real name: Steven Ellison) adopting a gloomy, apocalyptic sound, but word is that You’re Dead! will integrate some of his jazzier influences. If you didn’t know, FlyLo grew up in a musical household, the nephew (by marriage) of John Coltrane and by blood to his pianist wife, Alice Coltrane.
Tickets go on sale July 25 (#sorrynotsorry if you’re trapped on the Comic-Con show floor then). Check out the tour dates below and then watch the music video for “Until The Colours Come” from his previous album at the bottom of this post.
