When Flight Of The Conchords, otherwise known as the musical alter-egos of New Zealand comedians Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, wrapped the second season of their HBO series back in 2009, we thought the pair would never fly again.

Aside from a brief tour together in 2013, both sailed on to pursue other opportunities. For example, Clement (and his sexy-deep baritone voice) snagged beaucoup roles in movies like Gentleman Broncos, Dinner For Schmucks and What We Do In The Shadows.

McKenzie also appeared on the big screen a few times in films like The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Austenland, but it was his musical contribution to 2011’s The Muppets which scored him the greatest accolades. Translation: His tune “Man Or Muppet” won an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Sure, we absolutely love what the guys have been doing over the past couple years, but recent news that Flight Of The Conchords are getting the band back together for a U.S. tour has us shaking our sugalumps like whoa.

While at Sundance promoting his newest project, People, Places, Things, Clement told Billboard that he and McKenzie are hoping to plan a tour of the States later this year. While the jaunt is still in the talking stages, fans can expect the band to play new material on the tour, which would be a first since the duo’s 2009 album I Told You I Was Freaky.

If this tour doesn’t come together, we’re going to have a lot of “Hurt Feelings.” Until we get proper confirmation, we’ll be crossing all our appendages for luck.
