Fix These Wonderful WONDER WOMAN Donuts for National Donut Day

The reason Wonder Woman’s home of Themyscira is also known as Paradise Island? Because it’s a land filled with donuts. Granted, that’s not at all true except in my dreams, but with National Donut Day coming up on June 2 and debut of Princess Diana’s first starring movie, it’s the perfect time to celebrate with a powerful pastry tribute.

These Amazonian snacks are easy to fix yourself. They’re made from biscuit dough and dipped in a sugary glaze to reflect the memorable colors of Wonder Woman’s original suit. They’re even decorated with a deliciously whimsical polygraph—a fondant Lasso of Truth. These Wonder Woman donuts are the ideal treats to hand out to all the warrior princesses in your life.

Open the can of dough and separate into 8 biscuits. Use a 3/4-inch round cutter to cut out the center of each donut.

In a large dutch oven, heat 1-1/2-inches of oil to 350 degrees. Gently place the dough into the hot oil. Brown on both sides until cooked through, a few minutes on each side. Let drain on a wire rack.

In another small bowl whisk together the powdered sugar, melted butter, milk, vanilla, salt, and blue food gel dye.

Take a small amount of yellow fondant and roll it out into two snakelike shapes. Twist them together, then wrap around the middle of the donut. Repeat for each donut.

Once the glaze is set and the fondant lassos are in place, the donuts are ready to serve.
