FIST OF THE NORTH STAR Game’s Latest Trailer Looks Insane

For almost 35 years, Buronson and Tetsuo Hara’s Fist of the North Star (a.k.a. Hokuto no Ken) has chronicled the post-apocalyptic adventures of Kenshiro, an incredibly skilled and dangerous martial artist dedicated to protecting the innocent. Fist of  the North Star is also somewhat infamous for its occasionally over-the-top violence. However, the newest video game in the franchise (called Hokuto ga Gotoku in Japan) looks like it may be taking things even further than before. Sega released a new Fist of the North Star trailer at the Tokyo Game Show, and it definitely brought the crazy.

The new Fist of the North Star game is being developed by the same team who brought Sega’s Yakuza series to life. Apparently it’s adding a new storyline to Kenshiro’s history and a new location: Eden. Within the game, Eden is an unexpectedly serene city that doesn’t appear to be ravaged like the rest of world. Kenshiro will be drawn to the city because he believes his missing lover, Yuria, may be living there.

As shown in the trailer, there’s still plenty of action awaiting Kenshiro, including some hilarious moments like when he knocks a raider into orbit. It also looks like Kenshiro is getting a job as a bartender, as he uses his special abilities to make the most perfectly mixed drink of all time. At least that’s what we’re assuming, after all of that effort.

Fans in Japan will be able to play this game on Feb. 22, 2018, but there’s currently no word on when Fist of the North Star will be released in North America.
