First Trailers for TORCHWOOD Audio Drama Starring John Barrowman

Back in early May, we told you about Big Finish Productions producing a new series of audio dramas based on the popular BBC sci-fi series, and Doctor Who spinoff, Torchwood. There will be several multi-episode serials, each featuring another main character from the Torchwood team. While we didn’t know exactly who would be taking part, we did know that the very first one would feature none other than everyone’s favorite habitually-dying, pan-sexual adventurer, Capt. Jack Harkness, played by John Barrowman.

A trailer has been released (an audio trailer, of course) for this first Torchwood adventure, entitled “The Conspiracy,” and while you can’t really tell what’s going on, it would seem that Jack has gone undercover to attempt to get to the bottom of a worldwide, clandestine, probably alien-controlled conspiracy centering around an Illuminati-type group.

“The Committee.” That sounds pretty spooky, doesn’t it? And, truly, if anybody can destroy an alien conspiracy from the inside, it’s probably ol’ Captain Jack.

That’s not all, though, folks! There’s also a trailer for the second such Torchwood audio drama – “Fall to Earth,” which sees the return of fan favorite Ianto Jones, played by Gareth David-Lloyd.

This one is even more sparse than the first one, but it looks and sounds like Mr. Ianto Jones is on a crashing airplane. Have they brought him back to life? Did this take place before Torchwood: Children of Earth? No one can know just from that clip, but it’s certainly very intriguing.

“The Conspiracy” will be available for purchase this month while “Fall to Earth” will be available sometime in October. According to the Big Finish website, a new one will be coming out every month until February 2016, though only the first two have titles and lead actors announced.

So what do you think? Are you going to be partaking in some stereophonic Torchwood? Is it the next best thing since a new TV series seems far from ever happening? Let us know in the comments below!
