First Pics of Gal Gadot As Diana Prince (Not Wonder Woman) On BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Set

Is this our first glimpse of Israeli actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman on the set of Superman Vs. Batman? Well, ok, if not Wonder Woman, then it’s our first glimpse of Gal Gadot in her civilian identity of Diana Prince, coming out of the Google offices in Downtown Birmingham Michigan, where filming for Zack Snyder’s follow up to Man of Steel is now taking place (someone else online pointed it out, but it bears repeating-we are living in a world where a movie is being shot with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in it, the Avengers are shooting a movie in Europe, and in the deserts of Abu Dhabi a sequel to Return of the Jedi is being made. Think about that for a second. We live in glorious nerd times, kids.)

The pics, (which appeared on Uproxx, but were originally from local fan Michael Heidner‘s  Twitter account) are far away and kinda blurry, but not so much that you can’t make out how statuesque and beautiful  Ms. Gadot is. While this isn’t a pic of her in a costume, just the fact that we see her in modern clothing suggests we’ll be seeing the Diana Prince secret identity make an appearance in the film. For you non-comics fans who might only know Wonder Woman from the television series, in the comics Diana gave up her secret identity decades ago and is just “Diana of Themyscira,” ambassador, and if she’s not wearing her costume, they tend to portray her as wearing something regal and official-like. The fact that’s she seems to be wearing normal, all-American clothes suggests she’ll a normal, all-American ID to go with it, and something a tad less royal. But that’s just a guess. Hopefully a pic of Gal Gadot in full Wonder Woman regalia will pop up soon. And please, when it does…let it be better than this.

I don’t think she’s right for the role. Should we give such an iconic character to someone who identifies themselves as an Israeli Actress? Her country is the target (rightfully so) for boycotts, divestments, and Sanctions for their apartheid practices and breaking international laws consistently. So wouldn’t Wonder Woman as a character be someone who would be against such things? If so, shouldn’t we support the BDS especially in Hollywood?

You really want to go down that road?  Should actors be held accountable for the practices of their home government?  By your logic, American’s shouldn’t star in movies because the U.S. uses drones against civilians, ignored the Geneva conventions with Gitmo, starts wars on false pretenses, enacts laws that threaten its citizens’ privacy, etc. etc.

  2. Raulie Huesos says:

    She’s still too scrawny.

  3. JoeRalat says:

Hey I don’t reply too much, but I just want to say thank you to Nerdist for its headline on this. Most people would not included (NOT WONDER WOMAN) so they can have high click count. Thank you for being honest with your headlines!

Somebody feed that girl a cheeseburger or something!!

I’m not asking for She Hulk proportions, but Wonder Woman proportions sure would be nice. That up there, that’s not Wonder Woman. :/

  5. nic says:

Agreed. These look more like TMZ shots. :-p

  6. David M Stein says:

I live next to Birmingham, MI, where they are filming.  That could be just about any woman who shops around there.   Try again, Internet.

  7. Jon says:

So what?  We already know she’s in the movie.  These are pics of a woman in a dress taken from across the street.  Color me not impressed.
