First OUTLAST 2 Gameplay Features a Terrifying Cornfield

Are you ready to be spooked?

For those who decided to skip the previous Outlast title, you should know it was a terrifying experience that brought some great survival horror goodness to next generation consoles. As such, many have been patiently waiting to hear more about the upcoming sequel, which is simply called Outlast II. While we’ve already seen a couple of teaser trailers, we’ve yet to get some real gameplay. That changes today, however, as GameSpot just uploaded the first gameplay footage of the upcoming horror game, and it’s super creepy. Don’t take my word for it though, check it out above!

There are very few things scarier than being chased around in a mysterious cornfield. We’ve seen too many movies featuring corn to get near those fields. (Troll 2 alone is reason enough to be terrified!) This short clip should be a cinch to make fans alike of the series and newbs excited to play the game. The night vision camera is definitely making a glorious comeback, and it’s even waterproof. It also seems like choosing hiding spots will once again play a prominent role in your survival.

Personally, I hope there are more open areas like the cornfield throughout the game. It would be a nice contrast to the claustrophobic feeling of the first release. You can check out Outlast 2‘s original teaser trailer right here to get a better understanding of what to expect when it launches later this year.

Outlast 2 will be making its way to your console of choice this fall.

Did this gameplay footage spook you? Should this be compatible with virtual reality headsets? Did you like Outlast? Should there be more survival horror games? Let us know in the comments below!
