First Official Look at GHOSTBUSTERS is Just a Tiny Peek

Because today is Valentine’s Day and director Paul Feig loves us very much, he gave us our first official sneak peek at the new Ghostbusters movie as a special present. However, when they refer to this as a sneak peak, they aren’t kidding, because there’s not a whole lot here.

So what did they give us a look at? Well, between the words of the famous Ghostbusters tagline, “Who you gonna call?” we get to see a crush of police cars wildly racing off to an emergency, where they are then joined by members of the military and what looks like most of the New York City police force. There they all face, with guns drawn, an unseen threat. The short sequence is set against ominous music, giving off the type of vibe that recalls the swirling sky montage of the original Ghostbusters film.

So while we don’t get to see any of the four new Ghostbusters, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, or Kate McKinnon, we do know the Big Apple will once again have to call someone.

Although the movie itself doesn’t open until July 15th this summer, the end of this sneak peek tells us that the official trailer will premiere on March 3rd. So yes, that means we all just watched a trailer for a trailer, and I just broke it down for all of us.

What a time to be alive.

What do you make of this very brief look? Is there anything else we can learn from it? Let us know in the comments below.
