While we have a little longer to wait for CBS’ Supergirl TV show or Wonder Woman’s film debut in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. is shining a more immediate spotlight on one of its many other heroines. The CW announced at Sunday’s TCA Winter Press Tour that the Justice League’s Vixen will be getting her own online series via CW Seed, the network’s “home for digital original series.” Aside from seeing a kick-ass superheroine get her own production, what makes this project especially cool is that it will be produced by Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim, and take place within the DC TV Universe of Arrow and Flash. That’s right, when the series premieres in the fall, we’ll not only get Vixen, but the animated debut of the CW’s Barry Allen and Oliver Queen, to boot!
During its TCA panels, the network distributed a flyer for the new series, both sides of which can be seen below. As indicated under “STATS”, this Vixen will be indeed be the comics’ Mari Jiwe McCabe (nice name, that), who debuted in July 1981’s Action Comics #521. Created by writer Gerry Conway and artist Bob Oksner, she possesses the powers of various animals thanks to the mystical Tantu Totem. Powers that should prove especially formidable when paired with the Flash’s speed and Arrow’s trusty bow!
What do you guys think of the new character designs for the series? And do you think Vixen should make the leap to live action on either Arrow or Flash? Let us know below!
I LOVE it!My favorite heroine from Justice League Unlimited!
