First Look at Rick Remender’s DEVOLUTION (Exclusive)

Look around the room you’re in right now. Chances are, if you’re out in public, people are hunched over, their brows are furrowed, and their eyes are glazed over — fixated on the pale blue light emanating from the mobile device of their choice. In spite of how far we have come as a society, it feels like we aren’t necessarily evolving as people; or rather, what we are evolving into isn’t a form of progress. But what if someone or something actually screwed with the evolutionary clock? That’s precisely the premise behind Devolved, Rick Remender’s new Dynamite Entertainment comic series.

Every single living creature on Earth has been reduced to a slack-jawed, tribalistic Neanderthal — the evolutionary equivalent of a Facebook comment section. But it isn’t just people — elephants are wooly mammoths once more, saber-toothed tigers stalk the land, and massive insects will make you grateful for that teeny tiny little spider that scared the ever-loving crap out of you in the shower this morning. Yet, in spite of this seeming DNApocalypse, there are a group of “Still Sapiens,” genetic holdouts who retain their humanity and modernity, and are desperately trying to find an antidote so they can re-evolve the human race. Because a world without wifi and Doritos Locos Tacos is not a world worth living in. But I digress.
