First Look at Marvel’s STAR WARS: CHEWBACCA # 1

Next month, Chewbacca goes solo in his first miniseries from Marvel Comics! Deadpool and Uncanny Avengers writer Gerry Duggan and Black Widow artist Phil Noto are the creative team on Star Wars: Chewbacca, a five-issue miniseries which catches up with the famous co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon for an adventure that takes place shortly after the original Star Wars film.

At the end of A New Hope, Chewbacca didn’t get a medal for his bravery in the Battle of Yavin like his friends Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. But the Wookiee warrior from Kashyyyk may be glad to have his anonymity in Chewbacca # 1 as he finds himself trapped on an Imperial controlled planet. And as far as the Empire is concerned, the only good Wookiee is a dead one!

Chewbacca may not be accompanied by his friends from the original Star Wars trilogy, but he will encounter a young girl who needs his assistance when the Empire attempts to seize control of her home. Chewie may be severely outnumbered, but C-3P0 has always had the best advice for anyone unfortunate enough to go up against Chewbacca: “Let the Wookiee win!”
