After Daniel Radcliffe stopped by our Conival stage yesterday, we were transported back to our favorite celebratory moments in the Harry Potter universe. Because HOO BOY did the fans scream bloody murder when the former boy wizard took to the stage. Radcliffe stopped by with director Paul McGuigan (Sherlock, Lucky Number Slevin) to chat about their upcoming film, Victor Frankenstein.
Told from Igor’s perspective, the upcoming horror adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein takes a deeper look at the relationship between young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein (James McAvoy) and his troubled young assistant Igor (Radcliffe). Jessica Chobot spoke with Radcliffe and McGuigan about drawing inspiration from different cinematic iterations of the literary classic, developing the relationship between the mad scientist and his right-hand man, Igor’s intense physicality, and Radcliffe’s intense desire to adapt Haruki Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore, and more.
Victor Frankenstein, starring Daniel Radcliffe, James McAvoy, Jessica Brown Findlay, Sherlock‘s Andrew Scott and Mark Gatiss, Callum Turner and Daniel Mays, comes to life in theaters November 25, 2016. Stay tuned to all of our coverage coming out of Comic-Con 2015 by following #Conival!
