We can probably expect lots of denizens of the sea to help in the search for our favorite blue tang fish when Finding Dory hits theaters later this year, and that apparently will include Dory herself. Well, in fairness, if you suffered from a faulty memory you might forget your own name too.
That’s just what happens to Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, in this new teaser trailer for the long-awaited and much anticipated follow-up to Pixar‘s 2003 hit, Finding Nemo. She comes upon the title of the film and can’t help but be excited for the “fun challenge” of finding the missing “Dory.”
She’s the best, and using The Chi-lites “Have You Seen Her” is basically as perfect a song as you can use.
We’ve already been treated to a very emotional teaser for the film, as well as some playful posters that show Dory is just terrible at hiding.
Finding Nemo and WALL-E director Andrew Stanton returned to helm this sequel, which finds “Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past,” including trying to find her parents, and why she can speak whale.
DeGeneres will be joined again by Albert Brooks as Merlin, with Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy, and Diane Keaton also lending their voices to the cast.
You can just keep swimming to theaters when Finding Dory opens this summer on June 17.
