FINAL FANTASY XV Gets a Gloomy New Dawn 2.0 Trailer

With Tokyo Game Show still in full swing, Square Enix has released a new trailer for the fifteenth installment in their Final Fantasy game series, Final Fantasy XV. The video offers us a quick glimpse into the lives of the game’s two main protagonists, Luna and Noctis, as they both reflect on the troubled pasts that lead up to the game’s story.

The press release that came along with the trailer’s debut explains that “players will catch a glimpse of the fateful duo’s internal strife as Luna struggles against the restrictive imperial hold over Niflheim, and Noctis prepares himself for the journey ahead.” As more information and looks at the game emerge, before the aniticipated release in 2016, Final Fantasy XV is looking to be a stylish Hamlet-like story as Noctis, the Crown Prince of Lucis, has likely been driven into hiding with his friends after the powers of Niflheim have seized control. Screenshots at Tokyo Games Show also showcased mini-games and activities Noctis and his friends can partake in while away from the city. Fishing and Chocobo rides are confirmed by the images, but the game will offer even more.

The trailer itself shows very little we hadn’t already seen a month ago with the initial Dawn trailer that Square Enix released. The Dawn 2.0 trailer just confirms that the young girl being thrown around a room will grow up to be Luna and the young boy being carried by the large man with a sword is Noctis. Thus, also confirming that the big man with the sword is the King of Lucis. We will just have to wait and see what else Square Enix is willing to reveal about the game in the months ahead.
