Books of any genre can transport you to other places, but fantasy books have a leg up. The worlds in series like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones are busting to the seams with places to explore. Their lands are majestic and treacherous, cities are wondrous but also intimidating, and there are shops to explore and castles to attend classes in. My imagination runs wild when I read about these places, and sometimes I have to put a book down so I can devote time to picturing any given location. Peter and Radu of The Green Dragon Inn have apparently been spending time inside my head because their illustrations of fantastical places are the depictions I’ve been dreaming of.
Their Etsy shop is stocked with 11″ x 17″ travel posters for locations such as The Shire, Hogwarts, and Winterfell. The prints are so beautiful I want to jump into most of them and never look back. That’s especially true for the posters featuring Diagon Alley. The art is so detailed that I feel like I’m in Wizarding World at Universal Orlando or like I’m reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone again for the first time. I’m completely enchanted.
Flip through the gallery and be transported to even more magical places:
These posters would make great presents for yourself or friends. If you or the recipient doesn’t have enough wall space, you can always purchase a portfolio and gift it along with the posters. What? I’m an enabler. Especially since the art is priced affordably: two posters for $25, three for $30, and so on. You can fill up your cart at Etsy.
Which of these places would you like to travel to the most? Let us know in the comments.
Reminds me a bit of Steve Thomas art
I have this hanging by my front door… I may need this Hogwarts Express poster by my other door…I put the link as my website since I can’t paste in here =(
These are so beautiful. I only wish the artist had a little more typography experience. The Lobster script font is really unfortunate. #lobsteristhenewcomicsans
