Felicia Day’s Geek and Sundry Joins the Legendary Digital Network

The Nerdist family is about to get even geekier… and sundrier. Today we’re extremely happy to announce that Legendary Entertainment has acquired Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry, and that means we have a brand new sibling! Geek & Sundry will join Nerdist in the Legendary Digital Network, producing the best geek-themed videos on the web. Working with Legendary means Geek & Sundry can devote more time to developing fresh stories, videos and faces to deliver engaging and original content from their brains to your computer screens.

Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry has been a friend to Nerdist since we both launched our video initiatives in 2012. Both companies found their footing in an ever growing digital landscape while staying true to their goals of providing entertaining and engaging content for the geek and nerd masses. In addition to all of this good news, Felicia Day will be developing new projects with Legendary Television for both TV and digital platforms outside of her role as Head Sundrist. Day will work on those projects as creator and star, which hopefully means we’ll finally get that The Guild/Warcraft crossover we’ve been waiting for all these years.

Since it’s inception in 2012, Geek & Sundry has gained over 1.4 million YouTube subscribers, and over 12 million fans across various social media platforms. That’s 12 million people they can poke on Facebook. Honestly, we couldn’t be happier about this addition to the Legendary family because now we have even more pals with whom to geek out over everything from Doctor Who to Settlers of Catan.

That enthusiasm extends to Legendary too. Bruce Rosenblum, President of Legendary Television and Digital Media, praised Felicia in the announcement of the acquisition, “We are thrilled to have Felicia’s talent, creativity and ingenuity become a part of our growing digital team.”

Felicia Day is just as excited to join the Legendary fold. “I am thrilled to have Geek & Sundry partner with a company I admire and that aligns authentically with my audience’s interests. As someone who’s been working in digital entertainment for eight years, I am excited to see my company grow with Legendary, and to be able to keep making award-winning content within the changing digital landscape. And as a creator, I look forward to making fantastic things together, bringing projects I am passionate about to all platforms.”

What is the appropriate gift to give a company that is now your sibling? Geek & Sundry isn’t a newborn, but maybe we could get adult onesies for everyone? Do they make burrito kigurumis yet? So many questions, so little time. Maybe we’ll all just pop out of an oversized cake. Give us your best suggestions in the comments below.
