First Trailer for THE CONJURING 2 Brings Fear from Across the Pond

It’s finally here!

The first teaser trailer for The Conjuring 2, directed by James Wan and starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren, has dropped—and jeez, it looks pretty scary! From the real-life case files of the Warren’s, The Enfield Poltergeist is one of the most well documented claims of the supernatural in UK history.

For a minute there it was looking like Wan would not return to direct the follow up to his mega-successful and surprise 2013 summer blockbuster The Conjuring. But, fortunately for us fans, the stars aligned and he was able to make time in his busy schedule to step behind the camera once more. Just from the first look at this quick teaser, there are chills aplenty; from a haunted young girl to Lorraine once again being the target of a malevolent spirit. I also love the quick shot of a creeping, shadowy figure inching towards Ed. I think one of the things that made the first film so accessible was the classic way in which Wan evokes his scares. For a film that received an R-rating and terrified so many, it was almost shocking how bloodless the movie ended up being—and it looks like The Conjuring 2 will follow in those footsteps.

I have nothing but high hopes for the follow up and it looks like Warner Bros. and New Line do, too, as The Conjuring 2 hits theaters smack in the middle of summer on June 10, 2016.

Are you looking forward to Wan’s return to horror? Tell us in the comments!
