FAR CRY PRIMAL’s New Trailer Will Make You Appreciate the Present Day

You want to know why living in this day and age is so cool? Because we don’t have to worry about Saber-toothed tigers mauling us while we’re out taking a morning jog. The next time you complain about your name being misspelled on your Starbucks cup, just remember that. Or, you could just play Far Cry Primal when it launches on February 23. Its latest trailer (viewable above) highlights how the game’s story will bring the brutality of Stone Age to life through the eyes of a young hunter named Takkar. You’ll be assuming the role of this battle-tested lad, in a quest to lead the people of Wenja to prominence and fight off extinction.

There isn’t a more appropriate time period for the Far Cry franchise, a series that has always made survival the main objective. Nature has proven itself to be the world’s cruelest enemy, and Ubisoft intends on putting players directly in the path of its mercilessness. Aside from the giant beasts that you’ll be hunting as Takkar, you’ll also find yourself up in arms with various tribes and human predators in the game–because there’s nothing like a firm reminder of the savagery of mankind.

Are you excited to take the grounds of Oros as Takkar next month? What’s your favorite animal from the Stone Age? Carve out your thoughts in the comments and check out some more screens from the game below.
