Meet the Ultimate Girl Squads in This Episode of FANGIRLING

A new season of Fangirling is here, and we can’t wait to share it with you! Meet the trio of new hosts Dani Fernandez, Sam Maggs, and Markeia McCarty, who each bring a wealth of geekdom experience and fangirl enthusiasm to the show. Dani, Sam, and Markeia are also joined by rad guest host Danielle Radford in this week’s episode to chat about all the latest pop culture news, including the debut of the Marvel’s Runaways season 2 trailer and the recently announced casting for the upcoming DC Comics team-up film Birds of Prey.

Then Jessica Chobot, AKA Vogue Leader, stops by for this week’s edition of “Nerdist’s Lookbook,” where she shares the fashion and beauty products that have recently caught her eye. And because it’s Jessica, you know it’s not going to be something you see everyday! If you’d like to get your hands on this week’s picks, check out the Urban Decay Elements eyeshadow palette to add some color to your day and the sweet pink Princess Leia backpack from State.

Dani, Danielle, Sam, and Markeia also tackle a fantasy fan draft where they create the ultimate dream team-ups of women from video games, movies, TV, and real life. (A Hedy Lamarr and Shuri team-up? Bad guys don’t stand a chance.)

Speaking of amazing team-ups, this week also marks the release of Sam’s book Girl Squads, a non-fiction look at groups of female friends who have literally changed the world. She stopped by the country’s only exclusively romance bookstore, L.A.’s The Ripped Bodice, and you can get a peek at her book release party and interview at the store in this episode.
