“There’s so much that we share, That it’s time we’re aware, It’s a small world after all!” Or microscale in the case of this fan-made LEGO Disneyland, which is currently attempting to become an official set via LEGO Ideas.
LEGO has inspired all kinds of extraordinary life-sized constructions, like this X-Wing fighter that took 5.3 million bricks to build, or this walk-in LEGO TARDIS. But not all nerdgasm-inducing LEGO creations are gigantic. Enter Nick Carlierti’s LEGO set, a microscale Disneyland made up of only a few hundred pieces. It’s an incredibly detailed set, and manages to include miniature versions of almost all of the iconic rides from the theme park, as well as famous attractions from Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Carlierti’s tribute creation is comprised of everything from Space Mountain to Autopia (close-up images are in the gallery below), as well as The Magic of Disney Animation, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and five of the most famous Disney characters (Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy). It’s clear that Carlierti worked hard to replicate “The Happiest Place On Earth,” and somehow, using relatively few pieces, appears to have captured the magical and playful essence of Disneyland. He even put together a two-minute virtual tour of the miniature theme park following around the Disneyland Railroad cars, which you can check out in the above video.
Now, in order for Carlierti’s set to go from being a fan-made one-off to being considered for official LEGO production, it needs to collect 10,000 votes in the next 95 days. If you want to help this set “become a real boy!” err… or a real LEGO product available for purchase, you can cast your vote here.
What do you think about Carlierti’s fan-made set? Is it ready for official LEGO production, or should we put this creation On Ice? Let us know in the comments section below!
